Erica & Andrew: Colorful and Chic

If I had gotten the gallery back in time, this one definitely would’ve been included in My Top 23 Weddings of 2023! But it’s all good, because now we get to highlight it here in all its glory!

Erica is one of the sweetest brides I’ve ever worked with. This couple found me on my Instagram, and they’re actually super local (they live like 5 minutes from me). That was awesome because Erica was able to come by and chat and pick up items throughout the process.

The Venue

Erica and Andrew’s special day took place in early November of 2023 at The Coach House at The Ryland Inn. The Ryland Inn is a 220 year-old equestrian estate in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. The Coach House is a little more rustic compared to the Grand Ballroom. The refurbished 200 year-old barn utilizes the silo and materials from the original barn, which makes the space super unique.

The Vibe

For a November wedding in New Jersey, Erica and Andrew got absolutely perfect weather. The colors of the leaves - especially with Erica’s gorrrgeous red hair - ahhh so pretty! Oh my gosh. So pretty. I love it so much.

Sage green was the star of this wedding. We worked it in throughout without it becoming an in-your-face green. The couple worked with Jardiniere Fine Flowers to pull in pampas grass and greenery as much as possible. This paired perfectly with the terracotta-y, peachy, and pink colors of all of the flowers. The florals looked absolutely stunning on the incredible floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace in The Coach House. Everything just made sense.

What I Did

Invitation Suite

For their invitation suite, we used gorgeous handmade deckled paper. At the top was my watercolor of The Coach House. I used gold foil for their names, and letterpress for the rest of the information. Everything paired together so nicely, and we tied them with ivory ribbon and a gold wax seal of their initials. The envelopes featured green watercolor calligraphy, and the liner was a beautiful green. We also used amazing vintage stamps on every single envelope. Ahhh so good.

Wedding Day Signage

For their signage, we wanted to do something simple but kind of modern. So I did acrylic mounted with deckled paper with green watercolor lettering. I wanted to tie in the watercolor lettering as much as possible to be consistent with their invitation suite.

For their additional signage, I did a simple clear acrylic with gold calligraphy. Their guest book was a white guitar that everyone got to sign. I wrote “just the two of us” at the top in gold, because that was their wedding song. So so cool.

We also wanted to carry the gold into their signature cocktail signs. I did watercolor lettering and paintings of their pup for “The BennyRita” and their cat for “The Kasper Collins.”

Menu & Table Numbers

For the menus I tied in my watercolor of The Coach House at the top just like the invitations. I wanted to ensure all of the stationery was cohesive. For the table numbers, I went with a dark green deckled paper with gold watercolor calligraphy in gold frames. So sleek and so elegant. The tables were truly stunning with terracotta candles complementing the amazing florals. It was perfect.
