Update From Maternity Leave: Calligraphy, Motherhood & More

We’re Not Fully Back… but… Hi!

It’s been a minute since we’ve been here. Hello and welcome back!

If you’re newly engaged and just finding me… welcome. You’re in the right place to get a glimpse into who you’ll be working with.

Kicking Off 2026 with a BANG.

2026 has been a whirlwind, to say the least. I wrapped up so many spring weddings for the most amazing brides (grateful, grateful), and then officially went on maternity leave ahead of welcoming the newest addition to the Giovine household—Colton “Colt” Joe, named for my mama.

It has been such a joy being home with my guys. Is it chaotic? Yes. Am I exhausted? Also yes. But in some fun news, we’re back to having more than one coffee a day, and that alone feels like a win. ☕️

Motherhood is not for the weak. I truly applaud the women doing two under two, because that must be an adventure in itself.

We took a Creative Break, But Did We Really?

Now, I’m going to be completely honest… have we been on leave at 100%? Absolutely not. I’m so proud to say that I LOVE what I do, which is why I couldn’t say no to a couple of projects during this time. And to be honest, is anyone truly surprised here? We’re not.

Where My Foodies At? Because you’ll appreciate this last-minute project…

One standout? Um, hello—any fellow foodies here?! The Food Dragon (who hails from LBI, by the way) was not only a former Jess Press Play podcast guest, but also a bride who needed last-minute help with her wedding invitations.

I was STOKED to jump in, but I can’t take all the credit. Not only can she cook up an incredible meal, but she also designed her own invitation suite. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m obsessed with a die-cut moment, which she fully executed on her own.

I stepped in to elevate the suite with custom calligraphy, something that I truly believe adds a personal touch to wedding invitations and always looks oh so chic.

I’m sure some of you are wondering why the hell I jumped out of maternity leave to take on a last-minute project, and honestly? It just felt right.

It was something I knew I could manage alongside the chaos of my two boys, and truthfully, it felt really, really good to step back into a creative space, even just for a moment. Designing + creating have always been such a core part of who I am, and this project was such a fun moment to jump back into something that I really love to do on a daily basis.

We’ll Be Back… SO Soon

We’re officially back from leave in early June, and I’m so excited to be back in the studio (aka my basement 😅), ready to hit the ground running.

After a full spring season of weddings, I’m so excited to jump back into summer and fall, both already in full swing. We’re even starting to book for 2027, which feels SO unreal… especially getting those inquiries while OOO. Shoutout to my amazing assistant for keeping all the ducks in a row and everything running smoothly while I’m “out.”

We have custom wedding invitations ready to be assembled, wedding seating charts and signage waiting for mockups, and so much more ahead. Who’s ready to watch it all unfold on social this summer? (raising my hand from afar)

And Again… If You’re New Here, Hi! Let’s Work Together

If you’re planning your wedding and looking for custom stationery, calligraphy, or day-of details, I would absolutely love to be part of your day. We love designing wedding visions, and I cannot wait to hear every detail about your moodboard for the big day!

Guys, it’s been real—I’ll be back. Stay tuned for all the madness happening behind the scenes at The Jess Press. With a full summer and fall wedding season ahead, I cannot wait to show you what we’ll be working on. ✨
